I'M BACK BABY!!!!

I finally have my mojo back!! YES!!!! Friday 11-13 I am so exhausted! I have not been this tired in a long time!  I guess my marathon is finally catching up to me.  So I let myself sleep in a little bit and then headed out for a run.  Because I was so tired I didn’t want to push it.  It was a really nice walk of 2.6 miles. I got home tonight after work and the weather was just beautiful and I had so much energy that I just had to try running!  I DID IT!!  I RAN 3 STRAIGHT MILES!!!  IT WAS AMAZING!!!!  I AM BACK BABY!!!  It was refreshing, perfect, just what I needed!  I am a runner!!  Thank you Jesus!!! Saturday 11-14 Last night’s run has me on fire for running again!  It’s amazing how not doing something you love for a couple days turns you into a completely different person!  Thursday and Friday I was so crabby. I was snapping at my middle school kids and I just wasn’t happy.  Last night chang...

Day 4 Post Marathon: I'm starting to feel better!!!!!

So the past 2 days have been up and down once again. It's amazing what not being able to do what you love to do has an affect on everything else in your life! Wednesday 11-11 So this morning I was feeling really good!  I woke up and wasn’t as sore as previous days.  So I decided I would try to run a little bit.  I walked to start and was still feeling good. So I tried to run a little bit, very slow and not very far.  BOY did that HURT!  My thighs are just not ready for that movement quite yet!  I managed to run / walk or I affectionately call it WOG for a mile.  It was painful so I decided to stop at a mile and walk for the remainder of my time.  I am still very bummed that I can’t run yet!  I feel like I should be able to run so much and so far!  I ran a marathon for goodness sakes!  I can run forever usually and feel so good about it.  It’s just very humbling to say the least.  One thing I have learned about myse...

The First 2 Days After A Marathon

Wow!!  I have never been so sore in my life!!! I wanted to post about these 2 days because I wanted to share my current struggle with you. I promise I am working on a full recap of my marathon as well. But the days after a race like that are something that you don't think to prepare for. You assume recovery will be fast and you'll be back out there. BOY, was I wrong about that! I'm struggling. I'm real. I need your support! Monday 11-9 So after spending most of Sunday afternoon in a state of delirium, I finally went to sleep but tossed and turned.  I had to get up in the middle of the night to get some more pain medication so be able to go back to sleep.  I knew then and there that PiYo was out of the question for today.  There was no way that my body was going to move in ways that PiYo would want me to move.  I mean I knew I was going to be sore, but I never thought I was going to be this sore!!   So I let myself sleep in for a bit and t...

Final Marathon Training Week!!!! EEKK!!!

Marathon Training Week 18!!  The ups and downs of the week before a Marathon!! Sunday 11-1-15 I wasn’t supposed to run today.  But that darn Halloween candy got me last night.  Not really, but I did indulge a little bit.  It was worth it after all that walking with my super cute kiddos.  Actually I just wanted to get out in the sunshine and run.  It felt so good to run in the sun!  I felt so much better after it also.  I have a headache today but that wasn’t going to stop me.  Plus I made my goal of running 1750 miles for the year already!!  I am so excited about that!  The 6 miles I ran this morning pushed me to my goal.  I am so excited that I am hoping to make it to either 2000 miles or 2015 miles for the year.  I think I can do it, but I also don’t want to injure myself.  If I have it figured out right, I only have to run about 27-30 miles a week to be able to make it that far.  I totally should be able...

Marathon Training Recap Week 17--It's Almost Over!!!

Marathon Training Week 17!!!  I can’t believe it’s almost over!!!! Sunday 10-25-15 So today I rested.  I wanted to get out and run 8 miles to make up for some miles lost last week.  But then I kept snoozing the alarm.  Then I thought I could just run 5 miles and at least have done something.  When I finally got up, my EJ was up and so we snuggled together on the lazy boy recliner and watched The Golden Girls.  It was so nice to just sit and relax all morning.  I struggle with rest days and not working out.  Mainly because I struggle with my eating and usually overindulge on the weekends and regret it all week. I know my body needs to rest and I know it is good for my body and my soul to eat the foods I really enjoy and want to eat.  It’s just hard to find a balance.  I am struggling with this taper also.  It’s my first time really tapering for a race and I’m finding it more difficult than I thought I would.  I am so used ...

Marathon Training Week 16 Recap

Marathon Training Week 16 is done!  Wow, was that a total change in mileage!!  Plus a nasty cold that crept up on me didn’t help either! Sunday 10-18-15 Today was a much needed rest day!!!  I slept until 8:30 am after going to bed before 9 last night!  I so needed that extra sleep.  It was heavenly.  I spent the day doing laundry, running errands, and cleaning up the yard for the winter.  We put away all our lawn decorations and our patio table and chairs.  It was a lot of work and I was sweating a bit.  Just enough work so that I didn’t feel like a total bum today.  I did overindulge a little on some splurges this weekend, not many, but enough that my tummy was not happy this afternoon.  I am slowly learning my lesson.  My body craves real food and not the processed junk.  I’m learning!  I just need to remember how my body feels when I eat real food versus how it feels when I eat junk.  I never remember w...
