Insanity Max 30 Round 1 Results

This week marks the completion of Insanity Max 30 round 1 for me. This program has challenged me and increased my endurance. It was something totally out of the ordinary for me! I'm usually more into lifting weights and sticking to my running. I saw the results others were getting and I had hit a plateau, so I knew I needed something different. I never really liked Shaun T. I thought he was really annoying, but he is actually very motivating!! He is pushing me to my limits!! I LOVE IT!!  I always love a good challenge!! If you are curious about Max 30, it is a high intensity cardio and strength program that does not use weights. You lift using your own body weight! There is a lot of jumping, and I mean A LOT of jumping!! The great thing about this program though, is that there is a modifier for all the moves! There is even a modifier only track that you can play! It's totally doable for anyone! I even did it with a migraine several times!! There is no shame in modifying!!

Above are my initial pictures. I am a mommy to 2 wonderful kiddos and I have struggled with my mom pooch for as long as I can remember! I've had this pooch in my lower abdomen since middle school!! It's very frustrating and annoying! I want to get rid of as much of it as I possibly can the right way this time!
I don't want to go back to my old ways of using laxatives and hardly eating anything!

These are my after pictures. I can see a slight difference in these pictures. I have lost 2 pounds and 1 inch from my waist and hips and 1/2 inch from my thighs, calves and triceps. What I am most disappointed in is my nutrition throughout this program and my journey as an endurance athlete. Along with challenging myself with this program, learning and teaching PiYo, I am beginning to push my running mileage higher to begin to prep for my first full marathon in November!! I am struggling with how to properly fuel my body. I have a hard time eating properly after a hard training run. Sometimes I don't want to eat at all and sometimes I want to devour everything in sight!

I am beginning to read this book. I am hoping that it will help with my nutrition. I know that I need to lose weight to increase my speed and to better improve my overall health. I need to learn more about what to eat and when and how much. That is going to be my focus. I have the exercise and training aspect down! I love that!! I love being active and I LOVE RUNNING!!!

I need to improve my passion for healthy eating! I need to improve my eating habits so that my kids and my clients can see the positive benefits to a healthy lifestyle! Being around for my kids is the most important thing to me. I want to be a healthy active mom that can keep up with my kids. I don't want to be on the sidelines! I want to be in the game! I am going to start another round of Max 30 on Monday while refocusing on my nutrition. Food is fuel and is not here for comfort!!

I am an athlete and I am going to keep trying my best to figure out what is best for me and my goals as an endurance athlete. I will figure this out because I am determined to meet my goals!!!

Remember my friends, Be Strong, You Never Know Who You Are Inspiring!!

RUN ON!!

I may have a Serious Addiction!!!!

In the past 3 weeks I have ran 41, 45, and 46 miles!! Those are some crazy totals considering I would have been lucky to have a total of 20 miles a week back in October/November of last year! I definitely have my mojo back!! I keep wanting to push myself more and more with my running! My legs are feeling strong and powerful and I love it!! I am super proud of how far I have come with my running.  Back when I started running almost 3 years ago, I had a hard time running a full mile on the treadmill and it took me between 13-15 minutes to do it! I would get so down on myself, thinking that I would never be able to run a 10 minute mile! Now I can run that consistently for long distances, but I get down on myself when I can't maintain 9 minute miles for a 5K! I need to just be proud of myself for how far I have come with my running! I will get there! I'm just always in such a competiton with myself! I know I can I can do so much better with my nutrition so I am going to read this b...

Madison Marathon 2016

You guys!!!  I ran my second full marathon!!!  And I beat my time by 7 minutes!!!  I am still in shock several weeks later that I actually did it!  (And that it’s taken me this long to write about it!)  I didn’t quite make my ultimate goal of under 5 hours, but I was super close with a time of 5:04:03!!!  Can you believe it??? Here’s how it all went down: The family and I drove up to Madison on Friday night to get my packet at the Expo.  We hung around the Expo looking at the different booths, hanging out with fellow runners, and making signs. My kids made the greatest signs for me for race day! Such a pretty sight! There signs are so cute!  I love how supportive they are! We went to Pizza Ranch for dinner afterwards which is always a nice carb-loading trip.  I tell ya their pizza and chicken are the best.  We recently went to Mac’s Pizza Shack which is a local restaurant and their pizza is good but just not qui...

Project: Garage 2016 Part 4: Trusses, roof work, framing, and a new back door

I am so stinking excited about the work that has been done on my garage this week!  I am so incredibly thankful for our builders (Hometown Remodeling, LLC)!  They have put in a lot of work and it has been incredibly hot this week.  I love the sun and I love to lay out in the sun, but even I didn’t want to go out this week!! Here’s what went down this week: Monday, July 18, 2016 :  The trusses were delivered while the kids and I were at swim lessons.  That was all that we thought was going to happen today.  Luckily the builders finished their other job up early and headed to our house to get started on setting the trusses.  They got about half of them set up before quitting for the day.   Tuesday, July 19, 2016 :  The builders arrived at 8:30 am to start on finishing the trusses, putting the wood down for the roof, and  tar paper to get ready for the shingles.  These 3 guys worked super hard all day.  They di...
